Once again, Realm Makers is excited to partner with Speculative Faith in promoting the 2014 Clive Staples Award. We will announce the winner as part of the Realm Makers Awards Dinner on May 30th. Some changes have taken place with this year’s CSA, which we sincerely believe will build the award’s clout with the speculative fiction community.
First and foremost, the final winner will be decided by a panel of judges, so the award becomes a hybrid of “readers’ choice” and panel judging, which combines popularity and critical acclaim in the process. We’re very excited to be able to recognize the book that earns this honor, and therefore, the Faith and Fantasy Alliance is once again committing sponsoring funds to the cash prize that will go to the winner.
Because Realm Makers is earlier this year than last, the Clive Staples Award is implementing a faster-track nomination process. This is where you come in. If you feel there is a book from 2013 that deserves recognition as the “don’t miss read” of the year, it’s up to you to nominate it. Don’t let your favorite be overlooked.
For the full details on how to nominate a book, please head to the Clive Staples Award site and follow the directions there. Nominations close on February 28th, so don’t wait.
Best of luck to all the nominees, and we hope we’ll see you at the conference.
