Greetings fellow spekkies!
Today we begin a delightful series for your reading pleasure. We’re going to be sitting down with our faculty members one by one during the upcoming weeks, getting to know them better in preparation for the impending conference.
And now, it is our pleasure to introduce to you agent Julie Gwinn!
1. How did you get into your field?
My journey has been interesting. Journalism degree. Business Reporter. Marketing and Public Relations professional. Trade book marketing manager. Fiction publisher and then literary agent. I am a voracious reader and love talking about books.
2. What are you most looking forward to at Realm Makers?
Hearing the fantastic story ideas! The authors who attend Realm Makers are some of the most creative and imaginative writers around.
I love the mash-ups and retellings.
4. Who is your favorite speculative fiction Hero(ine)?
5. When did you know this was the field for you?
I have always been a writer. I have a background in Journalism and advertising. Being a literary agent is another way to stay close to the written word.

7. Coffee or Tea?
8. What as your favorite TV show as a kid? What is it now?
I loved Gilligan’s Island. Now it is Big Bang Theory.
