The volunteers are rolling in, the teachers are buying plane tickets, and step by step, we’re closer to the major pieces being in place for Realm Makers: 2013. Here’s what you can expect over the next few months…
First week of April: More formal course and faculty announcements will go live on the website. The registration cost for the event will accompany those announcements
First week of May: Registration formally opens for the conference
Mid-July: Faculty finalized and course schedule released
August 1st (afternoon)- Housing opens for check-in on the UMSL campus
August 2-3, 8 am to 10 pm both days, CONFERENCE!
I am continually humbled by how people have really rallied under this banner. This first year is going to get us off to a fabulous start, and I’m not only looking forward to what we’ll do thins time around, but how the vision will grow in the future.

Rebecca, looks like a great con. Would love to talk to you about the possibility of teaching a session related to writing comics. I’ve been writing comics professionally for some years, breaking in first with Marvel (did stories for New Avengers and Wolverine) and now doing independent work (most recently stold a faith-based graphic novel titled ClosetWorld to Arcana Comics). It would be one more unique perspective into another form of speculative fiction, in this case through comics. Look forward to chatting with you more.
